Navnsø is a lake bathing area with a sandy bottom, shallow depth, and clear, nutrient-poor water. The water is classified as good quality based on analysis results from the previous four years. The lake is situated in a heathland area approximately 3 kilometres east of Gatten, with minimal surrounding development.

Water

Lake with sandy bottom, shallow depth, and clear water. No normal water currents are present. The lake is characterized as a lobelia lake based on the aquatic plants growing on the bottom.

Location

Located 3 kilometres east of Gatten in a heathland region. Access is via a gravel road from Aggersundvej, approximately 700 metres to the car park at the southwestern corner of the lake. Parking is available at the southwestern corner with signage at Aggersundvej.

Facilities

Car park at the southwestern corner, toilet facilities, picnic tables and benches, walking trail around the entire lake perimeter.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as Good. Analysis results show consistent good quality water. No evidence of faecal contamination from wastewater discharge, as the single nearby property uses its own seepage system.

Risks

Occasional cattle visit the eastern end of the lake, presenting a potential contamination risk despite no current evidence of pollution in water analyses. No risk of cyanobacteria blooms, phytoplankton growth, or macroalgae.
