Navet bathing beach is situated in Limfjorden at Halkær Bredning, west of Sebbersund summer house area in Aalborg Municipality, Denmark. Parking information is not available.

Facilities

No lifeguard vests, waste bins, or toilets are available at the bathing area.

Season

Bathing water samples are taken during the bathing season.

Water Quality

Bathing water is classified as excellent. Water is monitored during the bathing season for E. coli and intestinal enterococci indicator bacteria. No registered wastewater discharges are located close to the beach. The summer house area is designated as an infiltration area according to the wastewater plan, minimising pollution risk from that source.

Risks

Risk of macroalgae (seaweed) occurrence at the beach edge; large quantities of decaying seaweed can produce toxins and protect disease-causing bacteria from UV radiation. Risk of cyanobacteria blooms in Limfjorden, which can cause skin irritation and rashes, or poisoning if contaminated water is ingested. Risk of phytoplankton blooms due to relatively high nutrient content in the fjord. Glass shards, litter, and chemical pollution including oil spills occasionally occur.
