Nørhede Strand is a child-friendly bathing beach 55 meters long and 7 meters wide, located 200 meters east of Nørhede boat dock. The beach features very fine sand with a belt of small stones and shells at the water's edge, and a bathing pier. Water is calm and shallow, making it suitable for families. The beach is situated near holiday home areas and surrounded by agricultural land and natural areas with rich birdlife.

Water

Nissum Fjord with saltwater classification. Average water depth is approximately 1 meter, with 2–3 meters depth in the fjord's central areas. Water depth is regulated by a sluice gate at Thorsminde. Current direction at the bathing station is highly variable with no dominant direction.

Location

Located 200 meters east of Nørhede boat dock and north of the holiday home areas Nørhede Øst and Nørhede Vest. Sdr. Nissum town is situated 2 kilometers south of the beach. Parking is available at the location.

Facilities

Bathing pier, parking, trash bins, lifeguard post, information signage for water quality warnings, tables and benches at nearby natural playground.

Season

Bathing water quality monitoring and classification occurs during the bathing season, with classification revised annually before the season begins.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as Excellent (Udmærket kvalitet). Classification is based on routine water samples tested for E. coli and enterococci indicator bacteria. No fecal pollution sources have been identified that could cause deteriorated water quality at this location.

Risks

Low risk of cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) blooms. Low risk of phytoplankton blooms. Low risk of large macroalgae (seaweed) accumulation at the water's edge. Three drainage channels discharge into Nissum Fjord within two kilometers of the beach; current assessment indicates these do not affect water quality. Sudden contamination is considered extremely unlikely but possible from accidents such as oil or chemical spills.
