Vester Husby Sø is a bathing lake located in Skavemosen within the Husby Klitplantage forest area. The lake offers excellent bathing conditions with clear, calm, and shallow water, making it especially suitable for families with children. The main beach is 65 metres long and 10 metres wide, composed of fine sand with few small stones. The lake is classified as an artificial freshwater body with no inflows, fed by groundwater, with a maximum depth of 2.5 metres and a gently sloping bottom.

Artificial freshwater lake. Maximum depth 2.5 metres with gently sloping bottom. Sediment consists of fine sand and small amounts of soil. No inflows. Water originates from groundwater.

Vester Husby Sø is situated in Skavemosen in the Husby Klitplantage area. The responsible authority is Holstebro Kommune. Parking is available directly at the lake. The site is located at UTM coordinates 446460, 6238695 (EUREF89, Zone 32).

Toilet facilities, disabled toilet, disabled parking, ramp access to water, bins, picnic tables and benches, two grilling areas.

Routine water quality monitoring is conducted throughout the bathing season. Classification is revised annually before the start of the bathing season.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. Classification is based on routine monitoring of faecal indicator bacteria (E. coli and enterococci) conducted throughout the bathing season. The classification was calculated from control samples taken regularly over the last 4 bathing seasons. No faecal pollution sources identified in the surrounding area.
