Coastal water body in the Moneglia-Levanto waterbody system. Bathing area extends 2,342 units. The coastline is characterised by high, rocky cliffs forming the eastern part of the Gulf of Levanto. It is located within the Rio Valle San Carlo hydrographic basin.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2008–2011). The Ligurian Sea is characterised by oligotrophic conditions. No cases of potentially toxic algal blooms have been recorded.

Risks

The Ligurian Sea does not exhibit cyanobacterial blooms due to its preponderantly oligotrophic conditions. No proliferation of potentially toxic algal strains has been documented.
