Fabregas is a 100-metre sandy beach located between Lazaret Bay and the small roadstead of Toulon, bounded by Aiguillette Point with its fort to the north and Fabregas Point with its fort to the south. The beach is semi-enclosed with a southeast orientation and experiences medium visitor frequency. A shower facility connected to the water network is present, and a mooring zone with light traffic exists nearby.

Water

Semi-enclosed sandy beach with a watershed basin of 1 square kilometre. The beach is 100 metres in size and has correct water renewal due to its semi-closed configuration.

Location

La Seyne sur Mer, located along the Corniche de Tamaris. The beach is situated between Aiguillette Point and Fabregas Point.

Facilities

Shower connected to the water network. Camping Les Pins is nearby.

Season

15 May to 30 September (official monitoring and management season for summer 2024).

Water Quality

Water quality classification maintained as 'Excellent' based on ARS sampling conducted during the 2023 summer season. The vulnerability index of the beach is assessed as 'Medium' according to multicriteria analysis, primarily due to potential impact from the Oïde canal during rainfall. Risk of cyanobacteria, macroalgae, and phytoplankton proliferation is considered low with no confirmed nitrogen or phosphorus inputs and no history of algal blooms.

Risks

Wastewater treatment plant effluent from Cap Sicié discharges 50,000 cubic metres per day in surface releases with potential impacts during southwest winds. Potential pollution risks from pump station overflow, rainwater canal discharges, mooring zone contamination, and the Oïde canal during rainfall. Risk levels for dry weather are classified as low for all identified sources, with increased risk during rainfall events.
