Le Jonquet is a naturist beach located in La Seyne-sur-Mer, enclosed to the north by the Grand Baou point and to the south by the Saint-Selon point. The beach is 100 meters long with an open configuration and southeastern orientation. It is accessible via the customs officers' path and experiences low visitor frequency.

Semi-enclosed bay with a watershed area of 0.3 km². The beach experiences correct water renewal due to its semi-enclosed configuration.

Location

La Seyne-sur-Mer, accessible by the sentier des douaniers (customs officers' path). Parking is available nearby. The beach is enclosed to the north by the Grand Baou point and to the south by the Saint-Selon point.

Season

Active management monitoring period: June 15 to September 15.

Water Quality

Water quality classification is EXCELLENT at the sampling point La Verne according to ARS monitoring from the 2023 summer season. The vulnerability index for the bathing site is rated as STRONG due to identified pollution sources. Bacteriological analyses are conducted every two weeks during the dry season. Risk of cyanobacteria, macroalgae, or phytoplankton proliferation is considered LOW with no confirmed nitrogen or phosphorus inputs and no history of algal blooms.

Risks

The wastewater treatment plant emission point at Cap Sicié discharges 50,000 cubic meters per day in surface rejections, creating potential pollution impacts during southwestern winds (Mistral). The beach is closed to the public due to rockfall risk. Short-term pollution lasting no more than 72 hours may occur from pollutant flows originating from the Cap Sicié treatment plant during southwestern winds.
