La Capte Village is a sandy beach in Hyères, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, in southern France. The beach is 1 km long and 10 meters wide with an eastward orientation. It is an open configuration beach with high visitor frequency and offers non-motorized water activities. The beach is managed as a concession by the Métropole, with municipal oversight extending 300 meters into the water.

Located in Hyères, Var department, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. Coordinates: N 43°03'50.1" - E 6°09'01.5". Access via Avenue du Levant. Parking available. Wheelchair access available.

Facilities

Lifeguard post with 2 lifeguards. Four shower outlets accessible to people with reduced mobility. One wheelchair-accessible toilet. Drinking water point. Restaurants available. Electronic waste bins. Wheelchair access to beach. Equipment for water access for disabled users.

Season

Monitoring period: 1 July to 31 August. Daily monitoring: 10:00 to 19:00.

Water Quality

Final classification 2022: Excellent. Monitoring conducted by ARS (Regional Health Authority) and self-monitoring by Métropole service provider. No microbiological pollution documented in 2019, 2021. Preventive closures occurred on 04/06/2020 and 28/06/2022 due to adverse weather conditions with no contamination found. No chemical pollution documented from 2019–2022. No biological pollution documented from 2019–2022.

Risks

Port at La Capte with potential contamination discharge. Storm water collector with bacterial pollution risk from street washing. Lifting stations at La Capte and Arrogante with overflow risk of wastewater during dysfunction. Medium risk from port discharge in dry and wet weather conditions. Low risk from storm water collector and lifting station overflows.
