Almanarre Centre is a sandy beach with small gravel located in Hyères on the French Riviera. The beach is 1.3 km long with widths between 20 and 40 metres, featuring a very gentle slope both above and below the waterline. It has a west-facing orientation and open configuration, with high visitor frequency during the bathing season. The beach is managed as a concession by the local metropolitan authority.

Preventive closures occurred on 04/06/2020, 28/06/2022, and 14/09/2022 due to unfavourable weather conditions, with no contamination detected upon testing.

Risks

Wastewater treatment plant (Hyères-Carqueiranne) located less than 1 km away with nominal capacity of 125,000 equivalent inhabitants and daily volume of 25,000 m³/day, presenting potential risk of treated or untreated wastewater discharge depending on water currents. Forced pressure discharge posts, air valves, and sewerage network present risk of pollutant inflow in case of pump failure, power outages, or blockages from rainfall events.
