Playa de Levante is a bathing beach located in Santa Pola, Alicante province, in the Valencian Community. The beach has an irregular closed configuration with perpendicular breakwaters as defence structures and a rigid maritime promenade. It is bordered to the north by Calas de Santiago Bernabeu beach and to the south by Santa Pola fishing port. The beach has an artificial sandy composition and is situated in a low-accumulation coastal area with micro-tidal range.

Water Quality

Water quality classification system uses four categories: Excellent, Good, Sufficient, and Insufficient. Water quality is managed according to Royal Decree 1341/2007. No direct discharge points to the coastline affect water quality. Short-duration pollution risk factors (rainfall, urban sanitation, coastal discharge) all rated as low frequency and minor impact. Long-term pollution risk factors (rivers/canals, industrial installations, port installations, diffuse pollution) all rated as low frequency and minor impact. Monitoring point (PM 1) designated as Centro Cala Sur, established in 1987.
