Playa Jablillo is a coastal bathing beach located in Teguise, Lanzarote, in the Canary Islands of Spain. The beach is 350 metres long and 12 metres wide, with white sand and rock substrate. It is exposed to moderate wave conditions and has a tidal range of 1–3 metres. The beach is situated on the east coast of Lanzarote in a water body classified as naturally superficial coastal type in good ecological condition.

Water Quality

Water quality classification based on four years of analytical results for faecal contamination indicators Escherichia coli and Enterococcus intestinalis. The water body is in good ecological state (biological and physico-chemical). No previous contamination episodes are recorded.

Potential contamination from heavy rainfall runoff carrying contaminants from upstream areas, with sporadic occurrence and duration less than 72 hours. Raw or treated urban wastewater from broken pipelines, sewage network failures, overflows, emergencies, or unauthorised discharges, with unforeseen occurrence and duration less than 72 hours. Brine discharge from desalination plant rejection, with unforeseen occurrence and duration less than 72 hours. No risk from jellyfish or sea urchins. No risk from macroalgae. Cyanobacterium Trichodesmium proliferation episodes occurred in 2004, 2010, and more intensely in 2017.
