Porto Verde - Porto Canale 100m N is a sandy beach located in Misano Adriatico in the Emilia-Romagna region. The beach extends for approximately 300 metres with widths ranging from 20 metres in the northern section to 60 metres in the southern section adjoining the Misano Adriatico tourist port. The area is protected by a flush rocky cliff to the north and a submerged cliff with two rock groynes to the south. It is a high-use tourist zone with numerous hotels and beach facilities, featuring constant lifeguard service during the bathing season.

Water

Coastal marine water in a flat alluvial area with high stability. The water body is part of the central-southern coastal area. Area of bathing zone: 0.332 km². No rivers discharge into these waters, and there are no direct discharges to sea.

Location

Misano Adriatico, Rimini Province, Emilia-Romagna region. The bathing water profile is located 100 metres north of Porto Canale. Coordinates: centre X=12.7177° Y=43.9744°.

Facilities

Three beach facilities with first aid services, toilets accessible to disabled persons, hot showers, no architectural barriers, sports facilities, and refreshment points. Lifeguard service is present during the bathing season.

Water Quality

Water quality classified as Excellent (reference years 2015–2018). Escherichia Coli: 90th percentile 38, 95th percentile 51. Intestinal Enterococci: 90th percentile 25, 95th percentile 30. No pollution sources from direct discharge points are present in the bathing area.

Risks

The southern zone, defended by submerged cliff, is experiencing erosion and is subject to beach nourishment interventions. Porto Canale and the mouth of the Conca River are located to the south and may cause eutrophication. No phytoplankton blooms or macroalgae blooms were reported during 2015–2018. No harmful effects from cyanobacteria have been recorded.
