Beach at Torrente Erno is a public access pebble beach located in Lesa on Lake Maggiore in the Piedmont region. The beach has a width of 130 metres and is situated at an altitude of 210 metres above sea level. The bathing water has been classified as Excellent based on routine sampling conducted between 2021 and 2024.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. Based on 18 routine samples from 2021-2024. Escherichia coli 90th percentile: 39.8 MPN/100 ml, 95th percentile: 62.9 MPN/100 ml. Enterococci 90th percentile: 88.4 MPN/100 ml, 95th percentile: 143.8 MPN/100 ml. Wastewater treatment plant located 500 metres upstream discharges into Torrente Erno approximately 200 metres from the bathing zone. The bathing water is characterised by Medium-High pressure from high density of sewage pipes.

Risks

Intense precipitation can trigger overflow structures. Accidental failures of pumping installations can discharge untreated sewage into the lake. Inadequate sewage network management is a possible pollution source. No anomalous events have been recorded. No cyanobacteria monitoring is conducted periodically in this zone. No proliferation of macroalgae, phytoplankton or problematic species has been detected.
