Rådalsgård is a bathing beach in Jyllinge, Denmark, located west of a private marina. The beach consists of fine sand without large stones and measures up to 10 meters wide and 50 meters long. The fjord bottom in front of the beach comprises fine sand with small stones scattered across it. A green recreational area lies north of the beach, offering opportunities for sunbathing.

Water

Roskilde Fjord, classified as brackish water. Water depth increases gradually from the shore, with depths under 2 meters extending 100 meters from the coast. Current direction is variable, primarily from the southeast.

Location

The beach is located in the southern part of Jyllinge, west of Rådalsgård Lystbådehavn marina. Access is via Nordmarksvej, which leads to a parking area at the marina. The beach has good access conditions from the parking area.

Parking area at the marina, trash bins, green recreational area.

Season

1 June to 1 September.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as Excellent, meeting all requirement values. Classification is based on routine sampling from 2016–2019 using indicator bacteria E. coli and enterococci. The classification is revised annually before the bathing season starts.

Risks

The stream Råmosegrøften Syd discharges into the marina east of the beach and may contain high concentrations of faecal bacteria. A stormwater outlet 300 meters south of the beach poses risk of faecal contamination during heavy rain. The Jyllinge wastewater treatment plant discharges 700 meters south; under normal conditions, dilution minimises impact. Risk of blue-green algae bloom is low. Risk of phytoplankton bloom is low. Risk of large seaweed accumulation is low. Glass shards and litter may occasionally occur. Rapid contamination can arise from boat accidents, manure tanks, or sewer line failures.
