Coastal water body classified as unstable mountain relief (CWA3). Area extends 1.459 square kilometers. Part of the Laigueglia-Albenga water body in an alluvial plain with Rio Colombera as the hydrographic basin.

Water Quality

Classified as EXCELLENT for the period 2008–2011. No coastal wastewater treatment plants, sewage conduits, or Imhoff tanks are present in the area. No particular measures or specific monitoring programmes are currently active.

Risks

Cyanobacteria blooms are not characteristic of the Ligurian Sea due to prevailing oligotrophic conditions. No cases of potentially toxic algal strains have been recorded in the past four years.
