The beach is classified as excellent quality based on routine monitoring of fecal indicator bacteria.

Water

Saltwater bay in Limfjorden. Beach length approximately 500 meters. Beach width varies from 5 to 15 meters. Seabed consists primarily of mixed sand and medium-sized stones. Water depth varies considerably; 2-meter depth is reached approximately 120 to 200 meters from the shore. Dominant current direction from southwest and west.

Location

Located on southern Morsø, approximately 2 km from Sillerslev town. Access is via the private road Gammel Færgevej, which becomes a gravel road toward the beach. Limited parking is available directly at the beach, with additional parking possible along the gravel road.

Facilities

Public bathing pier, picnic tables and benches, life ring.

Season

Routine monitoring occurs during the bathing season. Beach classification is reviewed annually before the bathing season starts.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. Classification based on routine monitoring from 2013–2016 measuring E. coli and enterococci as fecal indicator bacteria. No nearby fecal pollution sources identified. Sillerslev Å stream, affected by private wastewater installations, discharges approximately 1 km north but is assessed as unlikely to impact bathing water quality due to the Sillerslev Øre peninsula.

Risks

Risk of cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) and phytoplankton blooms assessed as low, though sudden blooms remain possible during warm periods with nutrient-rich water. Risk of seaweed (macroalgae) washup assessed as low. Glass shards, litter, and chemical pollution including oil spills may occasionally occur. Sudden contamination from ship accidents, pleasure boats, and sewage lines is possible.
