Water

North Sea saltwater. The beach is 650 meters long and between 100 and 120 meters wide. The seafloor consists of fine sand with occasional patches of small and medium-sized stones. Water depth increases steeply from the shore and varies significantly due to tidal and weather conditions.

Location

West of a car park accessible from Husby Klit Road, Ringkøbing-Skjern Municipality, Denmark. Parking is available adjacent to the beach.

Season

1 June to 1 September.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as Excellent. Classification is based on routine monitoring of E. coli and enterococcus bacteria during the bathing season. The municipality has found no known sources of fecal contamination in the area surrounding the beach.

Risks

Risk of rip currents due to variable water depth and tidal conditions. Swimmers should be alert to rip currents, which are common natural phenomena where water pulled over waves flows out through channels perpendicular to the shoreline. Low risk of cyanobacteria blooms. Low risk of phytoplankton blooms. Low risk of macroalgae accumulation. Possible temporary pollution from boat incidents, slurry tanks, or sewer lines. Glass fragments, litter, and chemical pollution including oil spills may occur.
