Lyngså Strand is a sandy beach with a sand bottom extending approximately 4 kilometers along the coast. The beach width varies from 20 to 30 meters. The water is shallow, with depths of approximately 0.5 meters at 20 meters from shore, 1 meter at 40 meters from shore, and 1.5 meters at 50 meters from shore. The water is salt and generally clear, though algal growth can occur at certain times.

Water

Marine bathing water with sandy bottom. The beach extends approximately 4 kilometers. Water depth reaches approximately 0.5 meters at 20 meters from shore, 1 meter at 40 meters from shore, and 1.5 meters at 50 meters from shore. Water is salt. Water currents are weak and from varying directions, predominantly toward north and east.

Lyngså Strand is located in Frederikshavn Kommune in northern Denmark. The administrative authority is Frederikshavn Kommune, Rådhus Alle 100, 9900 Frederikshavn.

Water Quality

Bathing water is monitored for E. coli and Enterococci bacteria throughout the bathing season (1 June to 1 September). Bacterial counts are elevated during heavy rain and when visibility depth is below 1 meter. Water quality is classified as excellent, good, satisfactory, or poor based on samples collected over the last 4 seasons.

Risks

Swimming is not recommended in and around watercourses including Klitbækken and Korrebækken. Swimming is not recommended during and immediately after heavy rain. Swimming is not recommended when water clarity is poor (visibility depth below 1 meter). Algal growth can occur during certain periods.
