Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2008-2011). No coastal wastewater treatment plants or discharge conduits are present. No toxic algal blooms recorded. The Ligurian Sea is not characterized by cyanobacterial blooms due to oligotrophic conditions. No cases of potentially toxic algal strains have been recorded in the last four years.
