Location

Located in Ameglia, La Spezia province, Liguria region. Contact: Comune di Ameglia, Via Cafaggio 15, telephone 018760921. The area extends over 1.318 square kilometers along a long stretch of coast with cliff faces extending to Punta Corvo.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2008-2011). No coastal treatment plants, sewage channels, or Imhoff tanks are present in the area. The Ligurian Sea is not characterized by cyanobacterial blooms due to predominantly oligotrophic conditions. No cases of potentially toxic algal strains have occurred in the past 4 years.

Risks

No identified short-duration pollution events or anomalous situations documented. No macroalgal proliferation, phytoplankton blooms, or potentially toxic species have been recorded. Cyanobacterial proliferation is not a risk due to oligotrophic conditions.
