Spiaggia Est

Italy Lake 1 - Excellent

Spiaggia Est is a pebble and grass beach located at the south-eastern end of Lake Canzolino in the Trentino-Alto Adige region. The beach has a medium slope that is consistent between the emerged and submerged zones. The beach extends 30 metres with a width of approximately 10 metres. The beach is situated near the SP 107 road with a small parking area nearby. Nearby facilities include a hotel and pizzeria.

Water

Lake Canzolino. The bathing water area covers 1.1 square kilometres at an altitude of 540 metres above sea level. The Fersina is the associated river basin.

Location

Pergine Valsugana, Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy. Located at the south-eastern end of Lake Canzolino near the SP 107 road. Small parking area is available at the beach.

Facilities

Hotel and pizzeria nearby. Animals are not permitted on the beach.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2016–2019). Nitrate concentrations are well below vulnerability thresholds. All wastewater from the Madrano–Canzolino zone is connected to the sewage system. No specific point sources of pollution have been identified.

Risks

Cyanobacterial blooms have been recorded: Aphanothece smithii (August 2016, September 2019), Anathece/Aphanothece minutissima (September 2017), and Aphanocapsa nubilum (September 2017, August 2018). No toxic events have been reported. Monthly algal monitoring is conducted from May to September, including tests for toxic algae and toxicological analysis.
