Heatherhill and Strandbjerggård is a 900-metre-long beach with a width of 25 metres located along beautiful natural areas. The beach features two access points at Rågelejevej with parking facilities, though both descents are relatively steep and not recommended for those with mobility difficulties. The beach has varying stone and sand, with water depth reaching 2 metres at 180 metres from the shore.

Water

Saltwater beach. Water depth 2 metres at 180 metres from shore. Beach length 900 metres, width 25 metres. Sand and stone bottom without fixed reef structure with some scour holes. Salinity approximately 2%.

Location

Located at Rågelejevej with two access points. Parking available at Hostrupsvej (Strandbjerggård) and Svanemosen (Heatherhill). Both beach accesses are relatively steep.

Facilities

Lifeguards present during school summer holidays 10:00–18:00 and during bathing season. Rescue rings available throughout bathing season. Toilets including accessible toilet. Litter bins. Waste sorting. Swimming platform (badebro) in summer at Strandbjerggård eastern access. Dogs allowed on leash April 1 – September 30; off-leash allowed October 1 – March 31.

Bathing season monitoring occurs. Lifeguards present during school summer holidays (10:00–18:00) and throughout bathing season. Swimming platform available in summer.

Water Quality

Water quality calculated from samples collected over the last four years. Low risk of cyanobacteria growth in the area, though algae may drift from Øresund. Minimal growth of seaweed within 4 metres of the waterline. No known discharges or overflows.

Risks

Strong cross-current can develop during westerly and northerly winds. Strong currents may occur behind wave breakers off Heatherhill. Cyanobacteria may drift from Øresund.
