Strandlyvej is a bathing spot located on Isefjord at the end of a summer house area along Strandly road. The beach features approximately 50 square metres of fine sand and a bathing pier of about 110 metres in length. Water depth at the sampling point exceeds 1 metre, with approximately 200 metres required to reach 2 metres depth. The bathing water is classified as excellent quality based on data from 2016–2019.

Water

Isefjord. Brackish water (mixture of salt and fresh water). Current direction is variable but predominantly south-southwest. Water depth at the sampling point is over 1 metre; 2 metres depth is reached approximately 200 metres from shore.

Location

The bathing spot is accessed by driving along Strandly road; where the road turns, a path with a chain leads to the beach. There is no parking available. Tables and benches are provided at the site.

Facilities

Tables and benches. Bathing pier (approximately 110 metres). No parking. The beach is located in a nature-protected area.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as excellent (based on 2016–2019 data according to regulation BEK 917). Slightly elevated bacterial content was recorded in 2018, but all other samples showed good quality. The source of elevated bacterial levels is unknown. A registered drainage outlet is located approximately 500 metres northeast of the bathing spot and a watercourse outlet approximately 700 metres southwest, both with unknown water quality.

Risks

Risk of cyanobacteria and phytoplankton growth is low. Risk of macroalgae growth is moderate. Swimming is not recommended if water is unclear and feet cannot be seen at knee depth. Children should not play or swim near algae washed ashore, as toxins can form in decomposing algae and bacteria can survive for extended periods. Glass shards, waste, and chemical pollution including oil spills occasionally occur.
