Tålfor Strand is a bathing beach located in an urban area with a width of 5–10 metres and grass-covered hinterland. The seabed consists predominantly of sand with some soft-bottom areas. Water

Coastal bathing water. The 2-metre depth contour is approximately 350 metres from the shore. Predominantly weak northward-flowing currents. Macroalgae may appear seasonally at the water's edge.

Location

The beach is located in Aarhus Municipality, accessible from multiple points along Skæring Strandvej and Havbakkevej. Good parking is available at Hjortshøj Bæk and Skæring Bæk.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as excellent. Hjortshøj Bæk and Skæring Bæk discharge into the beach. During heavy rainfall events, there is risk of bacterial discharge from these watercourses. Blue-green algal blooms may occur under certain current directions and after prolonged calm, warm weather. Macroalgal blooms and phytoplankton accumulations may pose risks.

Risks

High waves of 50–75 cm above natural wave height may occur in connection with fast-ferry operations. Blue-green algal blooms can develop under specific current directions and warm, still weather conditions. Large quantities of macroalgae at the water's edge can shelter pathogenic bacteria and produce toxins during decay. Bacterial discharge from watercourses is possible during heavy rainfall.
