This bathing area is located between the Ausonia and Lanterna beach establishments in Trieste. It consists of a small pebble beach serving two beach facilities. The water body is classified as coastal marine water within the Trieste water body system. Water quality has been rated as excellent based on monitoring data from 2015–2018.

Trieste, Friuli Venezia Giulia region, Italy. Coordinates: 45.648086°N, 13.752362°E. The bathing area extends 0.867 km along the coast.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (reference years 2015–2018). Escherichia coli (90th percentile): 23 CFU/100 mL; Escherichia coli (95th percentile): 28 CFU/100 mL. Intestinal enterococci (90th percentile): 16 CFU/100 mL; Intestinal enterococci (95th percentile): 25 CFU/100 mL. No variability in quality status detected during bathing seasons 2015–2018. Potential pollution sources: Servola treatment plant with submarine outfall and Trieste new port.

Risks

No cyanobacterial eutrophication phenomena have been reported. No cases of potentially toxic algal proliferation have been detected. No short-duration pollution events were recorded in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018.
