Trykkerdammen

Trykkerdammen is a bathing area located along Strandvejen in Helsingør, north of Færgevej 2. The bathing zone extends approximately 45 metres in length and 10 metres in width. Water quality is classified as Excellent based on measurements from the four most recent seasons. The area features a large bathing jetty and a very small beach.

Water

Brackish water (1–2% salinity). Approximately 15 metres deep 100 metres from shore. Sandy bottom with stones and seaweed. Weak reef formation. Dominant current direction is from south to north.

Location

Helsingør, along Strandvejen north of Færgevej 2. Parking is available on a designated car park on the opposite side of Færgevej. Public transport includes Kystbanen coastal railway to Helsingør and Bus 388.

Facilities

Large bathing jetty, litter bins, parking on designated car park across Færgevej, public transport access (Kystbanen railway and Bus 388), toilet at Helsingør Station. No lifeguard. No disabled access facilities.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. Monitoring station 311 with 10 samples taken in 2024. Monitoring results based on measurements from the four most recent seasons.

Risks

Strong currents can occur. Blue-green algae blooms may occur under specific current directions and after several days of calm, warm weather. Macroalgae present approximately 60 metres from shore. Phytoplankton blooms may occur. Risk of sewage overflow north of the beach during heavy rain, causing short-term water contamination for up to 2 days after the event.
