Uge Fiskesø

Denmark Lake 1 - Excellent

Uge Fiskesø is a bathing beach located in the northeastern end of a 3.4-hectare lake created through raw material extraction. The beach occupies approximately 0.4 hectares with a sandy bottom surrounded by grassland. The water body has no currents and has been classified as excellent quality based on control samples from 2019–2022.

Water

A lake of 3.4 hectares created through raw material extraction. The approved bathing area is approximately 0.4 hectares with a sandy bottom. The lake has no currents and no known tributaries from drains or watercourses.

Location

The beach is located at Uge Lystfiskeri og Camping, Åbenråvej 93, Tinglev, within Aabenraa Municipality, Denmark. Parking is available at the campsite entrance. An information board about water quality is displayed at the bathing area.

Facilities

Parking at the campsite entrance. Information board displaying water quality classification and warnings. Blue Flag beach designation requirements are met. Water quality results are published regularly on the municipality's website.

1 June to 15 September.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as excellent. Control samples taken at the measurement station from 2019–2022 consistently show excellent quality. Fecal bacterial concentrations are very low. The surrounding area's contribution to pollution is assessed as low, with no known direct discharge from drains or watercourses to the lake.

Risks

Cyanobacteria blooms can occur, typically after periods of heavy rainfall with nutrient washout followed by warm weather. Signs include discolored water, foam formation, and dead animals. Large quantities of macroalgae (seaweed) may accumulate at the shoreline. Occasional pollution incidents such as glass shards, litter, chemical contamination, and oil spills may occur.
