Unnerød Huse

Unnerød Huse is a bathing beach located on Isefjord, south of Bøsserup and east of Unnerød in Denmark. The beach features sand with some stones and extends approximately 100 meters in length, with a sandy area about 10 meters wide that continues into the water. The water is brackish, comprising a mixture of salt and fresh water. The bathing area is situated in a nature-protected zone with agricultural land surrounding it.

Water

Isefjord, brackish water (mixture of salt and fresh water). The beach extends approximately 100 meters in length with a sandy area about 10 meters wide. Water depth exceeds 1 meter at the pier end and reaches 2 meters at 100 meters from shore.

Location

Unnerød Huse, south of Bøsserup and east of Unnerød in Odsherred Kommune, Denmark. The beach is accessed from Unnerød Huse. No parking facilities are available on the site. Tables, benches, and waste bins are located on the way down to the beach.

Facilities

Lifeguard post at the base of the stairs. Emergency telephone. Tables, benches, and waste bins on the beach and in the grass area to the west of the access stairs. Campfire area. Camping permitted on site. Beach surveillance conducted minimum 4 times per year.

Water Quality

Classification 2019: Excellent quality (based on data from 2016–2019). No exceedances have been registered in recent years except for one exceedance in 2008 that coincided with heavy rainfall. Fecal contamination sources include field discharge near the bathing site, though residential properties and summer houses are connected to sewerage systems.

Risks

Risk of cyanobacteria and phytoplankton growth is low. Risk of macroalgae growth is moderate. Swimming is not recommended if water clarity is poor and feet cannot be seen in knee-deep water. Children should not play or bathe near algae washed ashore due to potential toxins.
