Strandhuse is a bathing beach located on the Isefjord near Strandhuse in Odsherred Municipality, Denmark. The beach features a sandy shore approximately 70 metres long and 7 metres wide. The water is brackish (a mixture of salt and fresh water). The bathing water is classified as 'Good' according to 2019 monitoring data.

Water

Isefjord brackish water body. At the sampling point, the water reaches 0.5 metres depth at approximately 24 metres from shore, 1 metre depth at over 50 metres from shore, and 2 metres depth at 400 metres from shore. Current direction is variable but typically flows southwest to west-southwest.

Location

The bathing area is accessed via Egebjergvej, located opposite house number 248 in a residential area. A parking lot is available at the site.

Water Quality

Classification 2019: Good. Bacterial levels were slightly elevated in 2018 and 2019, resulting in a downgrade from 'Excellent' in 2017. One exceedance was recorded in 2011. Risk of cyanobacteria and phytoplankton growth is low; risk of macroalgae growth is medium.

Risks

Macroalgae growth risk is medium. Swimming is discouraged if water is unclear and feet cannot be seen at knee depth. Avoid contact with algae washed ashore as toxins can form in decomposing algae. Glass fragments, litter, and chemical pollution including oil spills may occasionally occur. Stormwater outlets exist both east and west of the bathing area.
