Vrinners Strand is a stony and gravelly beach located less than 1 kilometre from Vrinners town in Syddjurs Municipality, Denmark. The beach stretches 500 to 600 metres southwest and is approximately 8 metres wide. The beach has a muddy appearance with seaweed and other debris along the waterline. The water is classified as excellent quality.

Water

Coastal marine water body in Århus Bay. The beach is approximately 8 metres wide and stony and gravelly with minor sand deposits. The seafloor beyond the sandbank is more sandy. Salinity is approximately 25 ‰. Water temperature varies between 14°C and 20°C during the bathing season. Current conditions depend on weather, wind, and coastal morphology.

Location

Vrinners Strand is situated less than 1 kilometre from Vrinners town. Access to the beach is via Havvej road. The access road is not signposted and there are no marked parking spaces. Parking individual vehicles is possible during daylight hours, though vehicle access to the beach is generally not recommended.

Season

Regular monitoring occurs during the bathing season from 1 May to 15 September. Four water samples are collected during this period.

Water Quality

Bathing water is classified as excellent quality. Analysis of bathing water data shows generally stable good conditions, though samples occasionally contain low bacterial levels. Moderate to high risk of temporary faecal contamination from wastewater, mainly from treatment plant overflows during heavy rain and from septic tank discharge in dispersed settlements.

Moderate to high risk of temporary faecal contamination from wastewater overflows and septic tank discharge. Large risk of seaweed wash-up on the beach. Low risk of blue-green algae due to high salinity levels unfavourable to their growth. Low risk of contamination from boat toilet tank emptying. Low risk of chemical pollution from maritime accidents. Small risk of mass blooms of other microscopic algae during bathing season. Pollen accumulations are a recurring phenomenon that can impair water quality.
