Dejret Strand is a bathing beach located north of the village of Dejret in Denmark, stretching approximately 300 metres on both sides of the access road Skårhavvej. The beach is stony and gravelly with only minor sand content and appears muddy in places. It is approximately 5 metres wide at high tide, with shallow water where the 2-metre depth is located 100–150 metres from shore. The beach is used for fishing and small boat mooring.

Water

Coastal bathing water in Kalø Vig/Aarhus Bay. Salinity is approximately 25‰. Water temperature varies between 15°C and 22°C during the bathing season. Water depth reaches 2 metres at 100–150 metres from shore.

Location

Dejret Strand is located north of the village of Dejret between two summer house areas with direct access via Skårhavvej, an unpaved road. The access road is not signposted and there are no marked parking spaces, though individual cars may be parked between sunrise and sunset.

Facilities

Dogs must be kept on a lead from 1 April to 30 September. No lifeguards, toilets, showers, disabled access, or flag status information is mentioned.

Season

Bathing season is 1 May to 15 September. Water quality is monitored regularly during this period with 4 samples taken and results published on the municipal website.

Water Quality

Bathing water is classified as excellent quality. Water quality is generally stable and good based on municipal analyses, though samples occasionally show low bacterial content. Risk of temporary faecal pollution from sewage is considered moderately high. Fækal pollution sources include overflow from sewage treatment during heavy rainfall (overflow water flows to Skjødsmosegrøften stream which discharges 500 metres northeast of the beach) and toilet tank discharge from boats. Risk of blue-green algae is very low due to high salinity. Risk of harmful algal blooms is low. Risk from chemical pollution is low. Pollen accumulation is a recurring phenomenon that can reduce water quality.
