Pontetto is a bathing zone located on the eastern residential coastline of Bogliasco in Liguria. The area is characterized predominantly by rocky coast with cliffs overlooking the residential zone. The bathing water body is classified as coastal waters with mountain formations and low stability. Water quality has been rated as excellent for the period 2008–2011.

Water

Coastal water body named Genova–Camogli. Extent area: 0.559 km². The zone is characterized by a series of rocky cliffs (falesie) fronting the residential area on the eastern side of Bogliasco. Water drainage from the Torrente Favaro stream.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2008–2011). No coastal wastewater treatment plants, outfalls, or Imhoff tanks are present in the area. No cyanobacterial blooms occur due to preponderantly oligotrophic conditions. No cases of potentially toxic algal strains have been recorded in the past four years.

Risks

River mouth (foce fluviale) identified as a pollution source. Short-duration pollution events and anomalous situations are under assessment using a developing modeling approach.
