A bathing area located in the Bogliasco municipality in the Genoa province, Liguria region. The zone is characterized by a pebbly beach surrounded by predominantly rocky coastline and low cliffs. The area is situated west of a small inlet in Bogliasco and is part of the coastal water body system connecting Genoa to Camogli. The bathing water has been classified as excellent based on monitoring data from 2008–2011.

Coastal water body (Genoa–Camogli system). The bathing zone has an area of 1.456 square kilometres. The coastline is characterized by rocky outcrops and low cliffs.

Location

Bogliasco, Genoa province, Liguria region, Italy. The area is located along the rocky coastal stretch to the west of Bogliasco inlet. Contact: Comune di Bogliasco, Via Mazzini 122, tel. 010.374721.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2008–2011). Potential pollution sources identified include a coastal treatment plant (depuratore costiero), a submarine outfall (condotta a mare), and the mouth of the Giarra Spriscina Torrente Poggio watercourse. No special monitoring measures are currently in place. The Ligurian Sea is not characterized by cyanobacterial blooms due to predominantly oligotrophic conditions. No cases of potentially toxic algal strain proliferation have been recorded.
