Water temperature in summer (May to August) ranges from 11–22 degrees Celsius. Currents are predominantly northerly, with locally strong currents possible near coastal protection structures.

Located north of Thyborøn along route 181 from Hanstholm near Agger By. The nearest address is Vesterhavsvej 2, 7770 Vestervig. Parking is available at the beach.

Risks

Foam algae (skumalger) can occur during periods of westerly wind, discolouring water brown and producing foul-smelling foam; not toxic but aesthetically unpleasant. Seaweed (macroalgae) may wash ashore during heavy weather and onshore winds, creating aesthetic problems and potential oxygen depletion during decomposition. Strong currents and waves possible during westerly winds.
