Lyngby Strand is a sandy beach with stones located on the North Sea coast between Hanstholm and Agger in Denmark. The beach is 50–60 metres wide and more than 300 metres long, surrounded by protected heathland with dunes, moorland, and lakes. Water reaches a depth of 2 metres approximately 100 metres from the shore. The beach is part of the NATURA 2000 protected area.

Sandy beach with stones in the North Sea (Vesterhavet). Beach dimensions: 50–60 metres wide and more than 300 metres long. Water depth reaches 2 metres approximately 100 metres from the shore. Salinity: 30–35 psu. Water temperature in summer (May to August): 7–21 degrees Celsius. Currents predominantly northerly.

Classified as excellent quality, the highest bathing water classification. Classification based on data from the last four years of water analyses. No fecal contamination detected. Water quality is monitored continuously throughout the bathing season.

Risks

Foam algae (skumalger) may occur during westerly winds; foam algae can turn water brown and produce large quantities of foul-smelling foam. Seaweed (macroalgae) can wash ashore during stormy weather and strong onshore winds, causing aesthetic problems and potential oxygen depletion. Blue-green algae blooms are unlikely due to the turbulent conditions on the west coast.
