A beach at 350 M Sud Punto 67 in Numana with fine calcareous and siliceous gravel of medium slope (3% on dry shore, 8% on submerged shore). The beach is 140 meters long and 35 meters wide, with a distance of 4 meters between mean low and high water. The surrounding area is urbanized with tourist facilities.

Coastal water body (Numana_Porto Recanati). Astronomical tide range 30–50 cm. Water area 0.21964 hectares.

Location

Numana, Ancona Province, Marche Region, Italy. The competent authority is the Municipality of Numana (Piazza del Santuario, 24 – 60026 Numana) and the Port Authority of Ancona.

Facilities

Assistance and first aid services, services for disabled persons, sanitary facilities, food and beverage points (bars and restaurants), sports facilities, children's play structures. Animals are not permitted.

Water Quality

Classification U. Wastewater treatment is provided by two biological treatment plants with activated sludge systems. Monthly E. coli monitoring in 2010 showed results ranging from below detection limit to 4800 CFU/100 ml at the Camerano plant and from below detection limit to 110 CFU/100 ml at the Castelfidardo plant. Mixed sewage networks may discharge during heavy rainfall events through overflow structures into the Aspio torrent and Musone river.

Risks

During intense rainfall, wastewater network flows increase significantly, causing overflow structures to discharge through various outlets into the Aspio torrent and its tributaries, and into the Musone river and beach area in Numana. Windsurfing and sailing schools operate in the area with boat launch corridors.
