Agersø Strand is a small sandy beach located on the open coast facing Agersø Sound, with an east-facing orientation. The beach is between 10 and 20 metres wide and approximately 110 metres long, backed by grassland. The seabed to a depth of about 2 metres consists of sand with seaweed. Water depth increases gradually, with 110 to 120 metres of distance to reach 2 metres depth. The water is classified as saltwater.

Location

Agersø Strand is situated near Agersø town in Slagelse Municipality. Access is by Strandallé road, with parking available at the harbour or via a path from the campsite.

Facilities

Toilet facilities available. Parking at the harbour. Warning signs for degraded water quality.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as excellent, based on data from 2012–2017. Monitoring is conducted four times per year. The dominant current direction is from the south (38% of measurements). No correlation has been found between current direction and increased pollution.

Risks

Risk of fecal pollution during extreme rainfall; Slagelse Municipality recommends against swimming for 3 days following extreme rain events. Low risk of cyanobacteria blooms. Seaweed can wash ashore; large accumulations should be avoided due to potential toxin production and pathogenic bacteria. Occasional glass shards, litter, and chemical pollution including oil spills may occur. Sudden pollution from incidents involving leisure boats, slurry tanks, and sewage pipes is possible.
