Agios Georgios Frangkudi 2 is a sandy beach located within an artificial harbour south of the Holiday Inn hotel in Cyprus. The beach is approximately 125 metres long and has a modified nearshore zone featuring a submerged breakwater running parallel to the shore, along with rock jetties at its eastern and western boundaries. The beach substrate consists of sandy material with no vegetation, and the seabed has an average depth of 1.5 metres and a maximum depth of 3 metres.

Coastal Mediterranean waters in the Lemesos East water body (CY_14-C2), part of the Cyprus River Basin District. The beach is located within an artificial harbour. Average water depth is 1.5 metres; maximum depth is 3 metres. Beach length is 125 metres. The seabed is sandy with no vegetation.

Location

The beach is located in Lemesos district, within the municipality of Agios Athanasios. Access is available via the adjacent hotel facility, which fronts onto Lemesos Avenue. Parking is available through the hotel.

Facilities

No public facilities are available directly on the beach. Bathers may use toilet facilities at the adjacent hotel. Umbrellas and loungers are available. Beach cleaning is performed manually and mechanically by the private operator. Maximum daily bather capacity is 370 people.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as excellent based on monitoring data collected since Cyprus's accession to the European Union in 2004. The coastal water body is in good ecological condition. Low risk of eutrophication from macroalgae and phytoplankton is assessed based on identified pollution sources.

Risks

Possible pollution sources include passage of commercial vessels offshore, mooring of recreational boats, and discharge from a stream located west of the beach. Short-term pollution risk is negligible. No incidents of short-term pollution were recorded during swimming seasons 2008–2010.
