Bagenkop Havnebassin is a bathing water area located at Bagenkop Harbour in the southern part of Langeland, Denmark. Location

Bagenkop, southern Langeland, Denmark. Accessible via the ferry road where parking is available. Tables and benches are located near the harbour basin.

Facilities

Bathing and toilet facilities at the entrance to the harbour basin. Tables and benches for public use. Bagenkop Sommerland beach to the north is part of the Blue Flag scheme.

Water Quality

Classification is pending; sufficient bathing water analysis results have not yet been obtained to classify the water. Monitoring is conducted at four control stations: Bagenkop 200 m N of discharge, Bagenkop S (south of basin), Bagenkop N, and Bagenkop Sommerland (north of basin). The bathing water profile will be revised and classification updated as monitoring data becomes available.

Risks

Potential contamination from faecal matter from humans and animals. Risk of fish waste contamination from the active fishing harbour, though water circulation reduces this risk. Risk from seaweed and plankton, which may require avoiding affected areas. Blue-green algae blooms have not been previously observed but would be announced by Langeland Municipality if detected.
