Tangrenden is a natural beach on the eastern coast of Langeland, facing Langelandsbælt near the Fredmose summer house area. The beach is 400 metres long and 5 metres wide, composed primarily of medium-sized stones with stone breakwaters running perpendicular to the shore. Water depth increases rapidly from the coast, reaching 2 metres at approximately 80 metres from shore. The beach features a large green area with a playground separated from the shore by a steep cliff, creating a distinctive natural atmosphere.

Brakvand (brackish water) in Langelandsbælt. Water depth under 2 metres extends approximately 80 metres from the coast. Current direction is variable but primarily from the south.

Location

Tangrenden is located on Langeland's eastern coast near Fredmose. Access to the beach is via Paradisvejen, which leads to a parking area at the beach.

Facilities

Parking area available. Playground in the green area adjacent to the beach.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. Classification is based on routine sampling for faecal indicator bacteria (E. coli and enterococci) conducted during the bathing season (1 June – 1 September). The classification is revised annually before the bathing season begins.

Risks

Tangrenden stream outlet is located 150 metres north of the beach and typically only discharges during rainfall; bathing is not recommended near the stream outlet. Risk of cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) blooms is low. Risk of phytoplankton blooms is low. Risk of macroalgae accumulation is low. Possible risks from sudden contamination include accidental spills from pleasure boats, manure tanks, and sewage pipes. Glass shards, litter, and chemical pollution including oil spills may occur.
