Bøsøre Strande comprises two adjoining bathing areas: Bøsøre/Skovhave Strand and Klintholm Strand, located in southern Funen, Denmark. Water

Saltwater in the South Funen Archipelago. Water depth less than 2 metres extending 150–200 metres from shore. Beach width 5–10 metres, total beach length over 500 metres. Seabed consists of fine sand with scattered small stones and seaweed. Current direction varies with wind conditions, primarily from south and north.

Nearest addresses are Bøsørevej 18, 5874 Hesselager and Klintholm Strand 33, 5874 Hesselager. Parking is available at both locations. Bus service is available. Bøsøre Strand is accessible via Bøsøre Strand Feriepark, and Klintholm Strand has dedicated public facilities nearby.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. Classification based on routine monitoring results from the past four years. Water is tested for E. coli and Enterococcus bacteria during the bathing season (1 June–15 September). Classification is reviewed annually before the bathing season begins.

Risks

Risk of cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) and phytoplankton blooms assessed as low based on monitoring, though blooms can occur during extended warm periods with high nutrient levels. Risk of washed-up macroalgae (seaweed) at the water's edge; large accumulations of decaying seaweed can harbour harmful bacteria and toxins. Glass shards, litter, and chemical pollution including oil spills can occur. Occasional contamination may occur from recreational boat accidents, slurry tank incidents, or sewer line failures. Klintholm has a single stormwater outlet at the beach.
