Casa Numero Civico 102 is a bathing beach located in Montemarciano, Marche region, along the Senigallia-Ancona water body. The beach comprises calcareous gravel with a medium slope of 7% and extends 350 metres in length and 25 metres in width. The surrounding area is characterized by urban settlements and includes railway infrastructure. The beach is classified as category C.

Water

Senigallia_Ancona water body. Calcareous gravel beach with average slope of 7% both above and below water. Distance between average low-water and high-water mark (safe water limit) is 10 metres. Astronomical tide range is 30–50 centimetres. Beach area covers 0.2974 hectares.

Bar, restaurants, sanitary facilities, and bathing establishments. Animal access is not permitted.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: E. The Vallechiara treatment plant (biological BNR with anaerobic digestion) serves the area with capacity for 85,000 equivalent inhabitants. Monthly controls by ARPAM in 2010 on Escherichia coli at the treatment plant outlet were compliant with authorized limits. Effluent discharges occur through the Rigatta ditch, which flows directly to sea through the API Refinery.

Risks

Natural drainage channel plus overflow of untreated sewage entering the sea via concrete pipeline. In April 2007, a fuel oil spill from API Refinery pipeline rupture caused temporary bathing closure. Fibrocapsa japonica (non-toxic brown-red algal bloom with oily consistency) occurred in August 2009 and the second half of August 2010.
