The western outer section of the breakwater at La Spezia port, located in the Gulf of La Spezia. This coastal bathing area is situated in Portovenere, in the province of La Spezia, Liguria. The water body is classified as excellent quality based on monitoring results from 2008–2011. The Ligurian Sea is characterized by oligotrophic conditions that prevent cyanobacterial blooms and harmful algal proliferation.

Coastal waters in the Gulf of La Spezia. Bathing area extends 1.12 square kilometres. The water is classified as mountainous terrain with low stability coastal waters.

Water Quality

Classified as EXCELLENT based on 2008–2011 monitoring data. No coastal wastewater treatment plants, sewage conduits, or Imhoff tanks are present in the area. The Ligurian Sea does not experience cyanobacterial blooms or toxic algal proliferation due to oligotrophic conditions.
