Falsled Ved Møllebæk

Faldsled ved Møllebæk is a bathing beach located approximately 1.6 km south of Faldsled town, facing west toward Helnæs Bay and Lillebælt. The beach is approximately 400 meters long and consists of fine sand with smaller stones, with a beach width of around 10 meters at its widest point and a gentle slope toward the water. Behind the beach is a grass area with a fire pit and picnic table. The beach is divided by the outlet of Møllebækken stream, and seaweed has been observed during the bathing season.

Water

Marine water body in Helnæs Bay, bordering Lillebælt to the west. Water depth increases gradually, reaching approximately 1.5 meters after 120–150 meters from shore. The seabed near the shore appears somewhat murky, with seaweed further out and increasingly fine sand with scattered seaweed belts at greater distances. Primary water current direction is southerly or westerly, influenced by tidal conditions and wind.

Location

The beach is located 1.6 km south of Faldsled town. Access is via Klintholmvej, which is a side road to Assensvej.

Regular monitoring occurs during the bathing season.

Water Quality

Water quality classification based on microbiological bathing water data from the last four bathing seasons. Risk of poor bathing water is low based on the most recent two years of analysis results. However, there is potential risk of poor bathing water after heavy rainstorms exceeding 5 mm of rain per hour. The municipality monitors bathing water quality through continuous measurements in the primary bathing area and publishes results on its website.

Risks

Risk of wastewater discharge during heavy rainfall due to separate stormwater systems in Buursminde summer house area and a sewer overflow from Klintholm summer house area approximately 400 meters upstream in Møllebækken. Sewer overflows occur approximately 26 times annually from rainfall-triggered outlets and approximately once annually from Møllebækken, each lasting 1–2 days. Seaweed accumulation has been observed during the bathing season. Low risk of cyanobacteria; no blooms, surface accumulation, or foam has been observed in the last five years. The municipality recommends avoiding swimming at and around the stream outlet.
