Nibe Fjordbad is a bathing basin located within Nibe Marina, measuring 30 metres long and 16.5 metres wide with water depths varying from 2 to 3 metres. A white flag indicates the presence of a lifeguard on site.

Location

Located at Stigsborg Brygge 5, 9400 Nørresundby, within Nibe Marina in Nibe. Parking and facilities are available at the harbour area.

Water quality classified as excellent. Monitoring conducted during bathing season for indicator bacteria E. coli and intestinal enterococci. Classification based on four-year concentration data. Possible faecal pollution sources include Nibe Marina, rainfall-dependent discharges, and watercourses.

Risks

Risk of macroalgae (seaweed) accumulation at beach edges; large quantities discourage swimming due to toxin formation and bacterial survival. Risk of cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) blooms in Limfjorden, potentially causing skin irritation or poisoning if large quantities are ingested. Risk of phytoplankton blooms due to high nutrient content; swimming discouraged in unclear water. Glass, debris, and chemical pollution including oil spills occur occasionally.
