Hotel Spiaggia Oro is a bathing area located in Fano, Marche region, situated along a sandy beach of medium width (55 metres) with fine quartz, feldspar and limestone sand. The beach is protected by artificial rock formations and has a moderate slope of 1–3%. The surrounding zone consists of urban settlements with a railway line passing through.

Water

Coastal marine water body (Fano_Senigallia). The distance between medium-low and high water levels (safe water limit) is 80 metres. Astronomical tide range is 30–50 centimetres.

Location

Fano, Pesaro Urbino province, Marche region, Italy. The beach comprises one concession area and one free beach area. Parking for disabled persons is available with an accessible path from the parking area to the beach.

First aid and lifeguard service; accessible toilets for disabled persons; accessible path to the sea; sports facilities; children's play area; refreshment point. Animals are not permitted.

Water Quality

Classification E. Wastewater is treated by three activated sludge treatment plants. The Ponte Sasso plant (serving 10,000–49,999 equivalent inhabitants) is the primary facility for this coastal section, managed by ASET. Control monitoring shows all parameters conform to legal limits. A mixed water discharge outlet (overflow n. 26 Spiaggia Oro) discharges onto the concession beach area. A slight increase in microbiological parameters was identified as a short-duration pollution event. Non-toxic microalgae blooms (Noctiluca scintillans) occurred in the 2008 and 2009 bathing seasons, causing anomalous water discolouration.
