Interno Porticciolo is a small sandy beach located within the Cala Doria marina in Portovenere, Liguria. The bathing area is fully urbanized and situated in the Gulf of Spezia. It is classified as a coastal water body with mountain terrain and low stability characteristics. The water quality has been rated as excellent based on monitoring from 2008–2011.

Water

Coastal water body within the Gulf of Spezia (Golfo della Spezia). The bathing area extends 0.609 square kilometres. The water body is influenced by the Fosso Tagia watershed.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2008–2011). Identified pollution sources include the Pezzino treatment plant, an active sea discharge pipe, and the river mouth of Fosso Tagia.

Risks

Cyanobacteria proliferation is not present in the Ligurian Sea due to predominantly oligotrophic conditions. No cases of potentially toxic algal strains have occurred in the past four years.
