Knudshoved Odde Strand is a 200-meter-long sandy beach located on the south side of the partially protected Knudshoved Odde peninsula, overlooking Smålandsfarvandet. The beach is 5–10 meters wide and features small to medium-sized stones scattered across the sand, with larger stones near the waterline. The water deepens gradually, making it suitable for children. The beach is situated in an undisturbed natural area with views of Knudskov forest to the west and Oreby Skov forest to the east.

Water

Smålandsfarvandet (a brackish water body). Water depth is less than 2 meters at 200 meters from the shore, deepening gradually. The seabed consists of small to medium-sized stones.

Location

Knudshoved Odde Strand is accessed via Knudsskovvej, which leads to a parking area at the beach. The beach is located in Vordingborg Municipality, Denmark.

Facilities

Parking area available. Rubbish bins present. Warning sign for water quality notification.

Season

The bathing season runs from May onwards. Water quality classification is revised annually in May before the bathing season begins.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as Excellent based on monitoring data from 2007–2010. The classification is based on analysis of two indicator bacteria: E. coli and enterococci. The beach meets the required water quality standards. Classification is revised annually before the bathing season.

Risks

Risk of cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) blooms is low. Risk of phytoplankton blooms is low. Risk of macroalgae (seaweed) wash-up in the water's edge exists; bathing near large amounts of seaweed is not recommended. Glass shards and litter can occur. Risk of chemical pollution is very low. Swimmers should be aware that sudden pollution from accidents involving pleasure boats, slurry tanks, or sewage lines can occur.
