Ore strand v. badeanstalt is a 700-meter-long beach consisting of fine sand with scattered small stones, located south of Ore along Storstrømmen waterway between South Zealand and Lolland-Falster. The beach is 10 meters wide with gradually increasing water depth, making it child-friendly. Behind the beach is a pleasant park area with space for picnicking, sunbathing, and play. The bathing water is classified as Good quality, meeting the required threshold values based on routine monitoring of indicator bacteria during the bathing season.

Water

Brackish water body (Storstrømmen waterway between South Zealand and Lolland-Falster). Water depth increases gradually from the shore, with depths under 2 meters extending approximately 200 meters from the coast. Current direction is variable, primarily from the west.

Location

Ore strand v. badeanstalt is centrally located south of Ore, Denmark. Access is via Badevej or Hybenvænget, both leading to the beach's parking area. Parking and toilet facilities are available.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Good. Classification based on routine monitoring of indicator bacteria (E. coli and enterococci) during the bathing season from 2007-2010. The classification meets required threshold values. Monitoring is conducted regularly during the official bathing season (1 June to 1 September). Classification is revised annually before the bathing season begins.

Risks

The stream Græshavegrøften enters 150 meters east of the beach and can periodically contain high concentrations of fecal bacteria. Three overflow structures located upstream can discharge wastewater during heavy rain, with the nearest structure equipped with a retention basin. Risk of macroalgae (seaweed) accumulation at the water's edge. Risk of glass fragments and litter on the beach. Low risk of cyanobacteria blooms. Low risk of phytoplankton blooms. Low risk of chemical pollution such as oil spills. Sudden contamination from boat accidents, manure tanks, and sewage pipes is possible.
