Vinkelhage Roklub is a beach located in a scenic natural area on Lem Vig fjord near Lemvig, Denmark. The beach is 150 metres long and 5–10 metres wide, composed of fine sand with scattered small stones. The beach offers views across the fjord to Lemvig to the south and rolling green landscape to the east. The water is classified as salt water from Limfjorden.

Water

Limfjorden, salt water. Water depth rises gradually, reaching less than 2 metres at approximately 200 metres from the shore. Current direction is variable, primarily from northwest, southwest, or west. The fjord floor consists of fine sand with scattered small to medium-sized stones.

Location

Located at Vinkelhage Roklub near Lemvig, Denmark. Parking is available at the site. The beach is accessed through a natural area that includes a holiday centre.

Facilities

Warning sign at the beach indicating bathing restrictions when necessary. Trash bin. Parking available.

Season

Routine water quality monitoring occurs during the bathing water season. Classification is reviewed annually in May before the season begins.

Water Quality

Water quality classified as Excellent (Udmærket kvalitet) as of 2023, based on routine sampling from 2020–2023. Monitoring measures E. coli and Enterococcus bacteria concentrations. A stream outlet to the west of the beach can contain high concentrations of faecal bacteria during rain; Lemvig Kommune advises against swimming at the outlet and near the beach during rainy weather. Swimming is recommended within the defined monitored section of the beach.

Risks

Stream outlet west of beach carries risk of high faecal bacteria concentrations during rainfall. Low risk of cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) blooms. Low risk of phytoplankton blooms. Low risk of large macroalgae accumulation. Occasional glass shards, litter, and chemical pollution including oil spills may occur. Sudden contamination possible from incidents involving pleasure boats, slurry tanks, and sewage lines.
